Windwalker PvE References
This page serves as a place to document various Windwalker ability minutiae and can be used as a quick reference.
Mastery Abilities
This is a list of abilities that contribute to and benefit from Windwalker’s mastery, Combo Strikes. Any ability on this use will get bonus damage from mastery as long as a different ability on this list was used before it. Any ability on this list will also grant a stack of Hit Combo if it is talented. For example, using (some other ability on the list) -> Tiger Palm -> Blackout Kick -> Tiger Palm will cause both Tiger Palms and the Blackout Kick to all get bonus damage and grant stacks of Hit Combo. Using Tiger Palm -> Leg Sweep (not on this list) -> Tiger Palm will cause the second Tiger Palm to not receive any bonus damage and will drop all current stacks of Hit Combo: it’s the same thing as just doing Tiger Palm -> Tiger Palm. Generally, this list is just all Windwalker damage dealing abilities, though there’s a few possibly unexpected ones here like Zenith. Presented in alphabetical order:
- Bonedust Brew (Only usable in Shadowlands content)
- Blackout Kick
- Celestial Conduit
- Crackling Jade Lightning
- Faeline Stomp (Only usable in Shadowlands content)
- Fists of Fury
- Rising Sun Kick (not the same as Rushing Wind Kick)
- Rushing Wind Kick (not the same as Rising Sun Kick)
- Slicing Winds
- Spinning Crane Kick
- Strike of the Windlord
- Touch of Death
- Tiger Palm
- Weapons of Order (Only usable in Shadowlands content)
- Whirling Dragon Punch
- Zenith
Diffuse Magic and Tiger’s Lust
Some spells in dungeons can be reflected and/or dispelled by Fortifying Brew when talented into Diffuse Magic. Other debuffs can be dispelled or partially mitigated by Tiger’s Lust. You can find a list with those abilities from current content on Megasetts Mistweaver Homepage with focus on mythic plus called Way of the Crane.

Target Cones and Area of Effects
The following images show the different target cones and area of effects of our spells.

Frontal Cones
| Fists of Fury and Strike of the Windlord are frontal cones with an angle of 90° and different ranges. Fists of Fury has a maximum range of 8y and Strike of the Windlord has a maximum range of 9y. | ![]() |
Blackout Kick
| Blackout Kick has the same range as most of our other single target abilities. This is the 5y default melee range. Talenting into Shadowboxing Treads adds a cleave on top which uses the same 5y range but based on the target. It can’t target enemies behind you with this cleave. | ![]() |
Slicing Winds
| Slicing Wind is the first empowered spell in the toolkit of windwalker. The area of the Slicing Wind hit itself has a radius of 5y. The distance travelled changes based on the rank it is cast at. It starts with 3y distance travelled at rank one, 15y distance travelled at rank two, 25y distance travelled at rank 3 and at the max rank the distance travelled is 35y. Combined with the 5y radius of the hit, you can cover a distance of up to 45y in total. | ![]() |
